Local band Downfall 2012 is ready to take this risk in order to move its music out of the suburbs of north Houston and onto the national scene.
Downfall is a band of musicians who are starting to move beyond the days of mosh anthems and heavy sounds.
Downfall is in the process of writing its new album now and hopes to release it in April or May. After that it will shop it around to independent labels and work on touring the country.

Right around the time the band formed in 1999, it seemed as if all of rock music had gone "corporate." Downfall's angst against this trend can be heard on its debut CD, The Fuse Is Lit, an 11-track assault on contemporary America.
Downfall's heavy, beat-driven sound can be traced to early Metallica and early '90s industrial music, two major influences on the band while it was just doing covers in suburban garages in Kingwood.
Downfall is currently in the studio working on a new album.

After about a week the band got the tape done except for Erich Anderson's bass parts after he had not shown up for practice in a week.
Adam has been friends with the band since the beginning of the summer so he was an oblivious choice.

Downfall 2012 can trace their origin back to 97’ when vocalist and guitarist Danny Gil and drummer Josh Pazda joined garage band Downfall, a high school rock band of which bassist Adam Pazda was already a member.

The band was founded in 1987 in Arlington, Texas under the name Solitude, split up in 1988, and were then reformed by Perez with a new lineup in 1989 as Solitude Aeturnus.

The band was formed in 1997 under the name "41 Down", but was changed prior to the release of their first album after signing to Geffen Records – so they weren't to be confused with the popular Canadian band Sum 41.
The record was certified Gold by the RIAA, and the band went on to tour with artists such as 30 Seconds To Mars and Papa Roach.
However, the album was originally slated to hit the shelves during the summer of 2004, with some pressings of the CD including the band's cover of "Rock the Casbah" by The Clash.

For such a new band, they have a solid grasp of the sound they are striving to create, but whether or not you like that sound is a matter of taste.
Although Sothis is not a band with a unique and original sound or style, it definitively promises to be the North American answer by bringing their quality and professionalism which is soon to be recognized along with their brutality similar to that of Dimmu Borgir.
While the band may take their name from an old Vader LP, the music here on this 4 song EP is far more of a flened nature than you may think, given their moniker.

Downfall is not only terrific cinema, it is also a history lesson, a gripping psychological study, and a dire warning.

After 1 year passed the band got tired of playing other peoples songs. from there they decided to start originals.
This demo contained The well known (local) hit smack Me Around The demo also contained 3 other songs (Bring it on, see ya in hell and prick) From there we worked on new songs and improved the older songs.
VD will be appearing on an underground indie band compilation based out of Thunder Bay (meathead Records).

Gigging and writing hard throughout 2002 sharpened the band's focus and determination and resulted in the self release of the 'Atrofeed' mini album by April 2003.
The release of 'Atrofeed' was supported by extensive touring across the UK and saw the band play over 70 dates between 2003 and 2004 in promotion of the record.
During the spring of 2004 the band signed with local independent label Voltage Records (Bradford, UK) and by August that year began putting down material for their first full length record and label debut 'Transporter'.

They were in a series of bands, the first of which was Basic radio, who broke up in late 1986 or early 1987.
Freeman did not stay in the band permanently and he was replaced by recent bassist Brent Harding in early 2005.
Following his departure from Social Distortion, Freeman was diagnosed with lung cancer in May of 2005, but was dismissed as abnormal tissue growth and not terminal to his health in June of 2005.
