Drachenfels, written by Kim Newman under a pseudonym in the late 1980s, is apparently set in some bizarro RPG universe involving long, teutonic-sounding names and plenty of Tolkienian orcs and beasties.
Drachenfels is a great fantasy novel...horror novel...suspense novel.
Drachenfels is without a doubt the best Black Library novel available, and is one of the best books I have ever read.

HWT » Encyclopedia » Definition » Genevieve Dieudonne (Powered by Grots)
In 1851 (IC), the Great Enchanter, Drachenfels, sacked Parravon and executed the First Family for their poor tribute, an action which also saw the death of Genèvieve's father.
Genèvieve herself was rendered unconscious by Drachenfels during the fight between her, the Enchanter and Oswald, and never saw the blow that Oswald struck to end Drachenfel's life.
The ceremony was conducted by the Arhc-Lector of the Cult of Sigmar on the stage of the Vargr Breughel Theatre, and the reception was held at the Crescent Moon, which altered its door policy to allow the living in.

 Review: Drachenfels
"Drachenfels" is the first of three novels featuring the character Genevieve Dieudonné, a surprisingly nice and gentle vampire girl.
Oswald gathers the survivors of his adventures, not all of whom are very eager to go back to Castle Drachenfels, in the ruins of which the play is to be staged.
Detlef Sierck goes a long way in "Drachenfels", from a failed genius to bouts of hubris, from moments of triumph to the dirty and dangerous reality of true heroism.

On the wild, jagged Drachenfels towering up so mightily above the river, there once stood a proud castle, of which today only the high tower is still to be seen.
This ties up with the saga of Siegfried, who is reputed to have slain the dragon, which lived in a cave on the hillside, and then bathed in the blood.
In the last century the hilltop and the tower were jeapordized by the stone quarries, which had been continually extended, untill the Government stepped in, taking over the peak and safeguarding the ruins from any further danger of subsidence.

Hero Tales and Legends of the Rhine: Chapter IV: Drachenfels To Rheinstein
Among the many legends invented by the early Christian monks to advance their faith, there are few more beautiful than that attached to the Drachenfels, the Dragon's Rock, a rugged and picturesque mass of volcanic porphyry rising above the Rhine on its right bank.
Half-way up one of its pointed crags is a dark cavern known as the 'Dragon's Cave,' which was at one time, in that misty past to which all legends belong, the habitation of a hideous monster, half-beast and half-reptile.
Among the first to adopt the Christian religion was Rinbod; he married the beautiful captive and built a castle for her on the Drachenfels, whose ruins remain to this day.
