  Draenei Rumor - WoWWiki
The draenei are perhaps the most commonly mentioned race in the speculation around the undisclosed Alliance playable race in the Burning Crusade expansion.
Unlike these draenei who have already sunk into their depression and madness, a group of draenei newly arrived from Outland would not be suffering the full effects of their homesickness.
It is possible that not all groups of draenei retained their shamanistic traditions through the decades of strife caused by the orcish rampage across Draenor, that world's destruction, and the subsequent rule of Magtheridon over Outland.

Draenei are demon-like characters that also get exclusive use of the Shaman for the Alliance side, so they will be pretty popular at BC's release.
The cool thing about the Draenei is that they have landed via a crashed spaceship, so the starting area has crash debris everywhere, and the main city itself is an absolutely huge space shuttle.
I will expand more on the Draenei in a future article; however, for now, the two islands that the Draenei have received appear to be very well done and loaded up with plenty for questers to do.

With the way the Draenei look it is almost impossible to see them as anything but warlocks, but this race is supposedly a race that is attuned to the light, or something like that.
I really do hope to see the Draenei getting something along the lines of their abilities in WC3 TFT, say a short lived Windwalk, the ability to call upon spirits to help them, or maybe even the ability to heal themselves regardless of class.

Yes, the new race is the Draenei, but those who were swearing that it would be Eredar weren't entirely off.
Velen and his people were delivered by them to a remote planet that they named Draenor -- after the word Draenei, which they called themselves, which in their language means "exiled ones." Draenor, as Warcraft lore buffs will know, also happens to be the Orcs' homeworld.
Storywise, the Draenei are struggling to recover from the catastrophic crash on the alien world of Azeroth, and it only just happened -- the first questgiver you encounter is actually keeled over in pain.

Alliance 'Draenei' are the latest race to join World of Warcraft - Idle Forums
According to WoW lore, the Draenei are descendents of the demonic Eredar race with a messianic hatred of all things orc, and form one of the three groups of inhabitants on Draenor (the place where most of the Burning Crusade action takes place) together with ogres and orcs.
As for the game as it is sans expansion, the draenei that you can see around the place (swamp of sorrows and blasted lands) are pretty far removed from the new ones in the expansion.
Well it's not a total retcon, I remember them saying for a while now that the draenei used to be more human-like, though I also remember them saying that they were native to Outland (which they aren't, I guess).

 GameSpy: The Draenei Experience
Since the Draenei shaman offers the most unique experience for Alliance characters, I went that route and began my adventure by swinging my mace and earth shocking things in the face.
I originally began playing a Draenei Shaman to see how the experience may have differed from the Horde shamans from a lore perspective, since shamanistic culture is such a huge part of what defines the Horde races, Undead notwithstanding.
While their approach to ritual is far different from that of the Warchief, Draenei shamans seem to fit quite well, and don't seem out of place at all, something that has concerned purists who felt that the addition of these cross-faction class options would throw the storyline out of whack.

Evil Avatar Forums - Draenei New World of Warcraft Race?
Partingvisions.com is reporting (by way of Computer Games Magazine) that the new Alliance World of Warcraft race will be the Draenei, a fairly ugly troll-like race best known as one of the neutral creeps from Warcraft III.
Alliance players will enjoy playing as Draenei, and the new Blood Elf race gives the Horde faction its first exercise in what humans perceive as sex appeal (even though those Troll females are pretty cute).
I think the draenei are a good choice though.

The Draenei of Burning Crusade are decendants of the race of Eredar and are in tune to the Holy Power of the world and therefor are members of the Alliance who are more geared towards holy abilities.
