Outland - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
Draenor was a massive planet and a large amount of the action in The Burning Crusade takes place on the largest of the planet's fragments.
Eventually the Horde was beaten back, and Draenor became the focus of an attack, via the Dark Portal, of an Alliance expedition aiming to end the orcish threat to Azeroth once and for all.
In the explosion most of the life on Draenor was wiped out although a number of orcs, ogres and some of the few remaining draenei survived.

Draenor - WoW: IncGamers World of Warcraft Wiki
Also known as "The Red World", Draenor was a boggy swampland and home of the Orcs previous to being cursed by the Burning Legion and sent to invade Azeroth.
After the Second War, the world was torn asunder by the many portals Ner'zhul opened in his attempt to find other worlds for the Horde to invade.
After the destruction of Draenor, it has been called Outland, as it is more a collection of floating fragments in the Twisting Nether rather than a whole world.
