DRAGONS FOREVER   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-14)
Dragons Forever also boasts one of the best villains in the Jackie Chan oeuvre--the evil mustachioed drug lord Brother Hua who sucks on giant cigars as he barks orders to his henchmen.
Though Dragons Forever spends more screen time on the romance plots than usual, the climactic fight at the drug factory will leave you holding your neck in pain.
DRAGONS FOREVER succeeds as both an awesome fighting spectacle and a gentle mocking of courtroom movie cliches.

Red dragons are the most covetous and greedy of all dragons, forever seeking to increase their treasure hoards.
When a red dragon's offspring reach the young adult stage, they are ordered from the lair and the surrounding territory, as they are viewed as competition.
Red dragons are quick to fight all creatures which encroach on their territory, especially copper and silver dragons which sometimes share the same environment.

Dragons are Forever .. by Brenda "Rion" Sewell
Dragons symbolize power, the grace of flight, the protection of a guardian, and an endurance of life to me.
For dragons are often guarding treasures, rubies, jewels, even sleeping on beds of gold coins.
A forest is reborn after a fire and the grass is greener because of the nutrients left in the soil from the ashes.

So, when their sixth film, Dragons Forever hit the screen in 1988, it was quite an event.
Yet, while Dragons Forever is widely regarded as one Chan’s best films in terms of action set-pieces, it’s not really what I’d consider a great film.
Dragons Forever wasn’t a huge success at the box office, despite the reuniting of Chan, Hung, and Yuen.

 DRAGON FOREVER - DVD
Dragons Forever and Cyclone Z), the last picture in which the aforementioned alumni performed together, was, after I Am Jackie Chan, my introduction to them as a team, and I was fazed by their easy, breezy, naturally Cover Girl chemistry.
The film betrays a reconciliation of the past, and little indication that this will be the trio's final outing, a far cry from the North American tendency to sentimentalize the last of anything beyond repair.
Whatever the case, it's a scene defined by its reticence, neither as violent as a moment in which Hung is bashed bloody in the head by his girlfriend, nor as rousing as the long-awaited rematch between Jackie and the androgynous Benny "The Jet" Urquidez.

Dragons forever is the last film from the three brothers and also the best, I think.
Jackie is blessed with the grace of Kelly, the stunted charm of Roger Moore, the comic timing of Benigni and the nose of a caveman.
Dragons Forever is mercifully economical in length - a herd of extras pile into shot as the credits roll, brushing aside scenes that must have cost more than a series full of Casualties.

DVD Times - Dragons Forever   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-14)
With a swift setup and introduction to the leading characters and their individual and joint motives the film is able to reach its first peak relatively quickly in the first of many occasions when the three dragons of the title are brought onscreen together.
Enjoying the dragons’ chemistry through the plot and comedy antics is a treat when they are given so much to work with as they are here, but the main interest for many will be the action which I’m happy to say is liberally featured throughout in the lead-up to the inevitable big action finale.
Beyond a fun little aside in the courtroom displaying an idealistic portrayal of love and some other plot progressions which serve to free the key players of their commitments and allow them to concentrate on the enemy at hand, there are a couple of strange character moments in the lead-up to the final encounter.

However, few, if any, would have guessed that it would be the final time the three ‘brothers’ (who were all part of the same Peking Opera troupe) would appear in the same film.
Sure, the potential is there…Sammo Hung’s excellent direction, a chance to see Jackie, Sammo, and Biao fight each other, and the rematch with Urquidez, but unfortunately, the story really falters in the second act when the romantic subplots take center stage.
At least part of this is attributable to the fact that all three actors (who are some of the most likeable on the Hong Kong scene) play uncharacteristically amoral characters that audiences weren’t comfortable identifying with.

He is an accomplished martial artist who began his prolific movie career with Fist of Fury and acted as a double for Bruce Lee in the acrobatic action scenes in "Enter the Dragon".
It is a real shame that this was their last film together, but Dragons Forever still stands as a benchmark for martial arts action to live up to.

 Doubles for Kicks
The doubles for the jump kicks used in the ending fight in Dragons Forever is a favourite topic among double-spotting analysts.
This is the jumping outward crescent kick aimed at the face (Benny the Jet's), which is done with the left leg.
Like in Dragons Forever, maybe this kick required the left leg, whereas Jackie preferred to use his right to kick most of the time.

 Dragons Forever
This collaboration between Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao is a terrific action/comedy film, but it is also a thinly veiled endorsement of the then impending handover of HK to China.
Its title Dragons Forever (dragons are often used as a metaphor for a country in Asia — ie Little Dragons) indicates a sympathy for the uniting of a greater China.
This impression is reinforced by the fact that there are three of them — and though they often fight each other in the end they must band together to defeat the bad guys.
