Dragontown is a summation – a clarification of what Cooper was always trying to say anyway – even though exploited sensationalism was sometimes the result.
About the only thing missing from Dragontown in these days of unquestioning patriotism and one-note presidential posing, is some good old rebellious questioning of the United States government.

DragonTown is actually the third in a "series" of albums that began with '94's The Last Temptation and on to last year's masterpiece Brutal Planet.
DragonTown is very character driven and again Alice has been able to tap into the present day teen-angst to fashion an intelligent and irony filled album.
It basically features the same line-up as Brutal Planet and it doesn't stray too far from that sound although it is noticeably less heavier in the guitars, a bit less brutal if you will, and that is what the album is missing.

Dragontown is one of my favorite albums of all time so I’m glad I was able to get this rare version of it.
Used copies can be found on the internet, but I had to look long and hard and had trouble getting the right version sent to me. If you’re a collector go for it, otherwise you just need to weigh the quantity and quality against the difficulty.
It still gets 4* partially on the merits of Dragontown (which I gave a 5*), if not for that it would probably be no more than 3*.

The most enjoyable track on Dragontown in my opinion is "Disgraceland", which makes me laugh out loud every time I listen to it, and along with "I Love America", this has to be one of the funniest songs Cooper has ever written.

DragonTown is one of those CDs that continues to grow on you the more you listen to it.
"Dragontown" is full of dark and sinister themes somehow tied together with a common thread (as to what that thread is I have yet determine, but I will keep trying to figure it out).
"Dragontown" is heavier than most of Cooper's releases, which is a welcome change to most of what is put out as metal music today, and in my opinion is some of his very best work to date.

Some of the evil metal songs include "Deeper," "Dragontown," "Fantasy Man," "I Just Wanna Be God" and "Sex, Death and Money." Alice's imitation of Elvis on "Disgraceland" is rather comical and yet it's so well done.

"Dragontown" is hard to understand, too, especially if your favoutire Cooper record is "Hey Stoopid".
Nevertheless, "Dragontown" is a Cooper record from the beginning to the very end, for the Cooper style has never been based on any particular sound or genre, it's in the atmosphere that the man creates with his voice, lyrics and attitude.
Try to approach "Dragontown" from this point of view, and you'll get a much better impression of the album even if nu metal is worse than a torture for you.

A sort-of companion piece to his last album, Brutal Planet, Dragontown suffers from wallowing in the kind of concept album mush that only diehard fans could possibly care for.

This is some heavy duty stuff especially the lyrics which relate to the world that we have inherited today.
DRAGONTOWN is a great theme song with neat Middle Eastern touch, sending an invitation for a visit to Dragontown.
