		This is the rounded plating at the lower corners between the vertical shell plating and the outer bottom plating.

		The draught forward in most sailing yachts would be a purely fanciful quantity, on account of there being no straight length of keel forward of amidships to measure the draught from.
		The draught of water of the yacht will of course be found by subtracting her height out of water, from load line to rail, at the points where the depth was taken.
		The mean draught would be found by taking the actual draught at several (say 4) equidistant intervals, commencing at the heel of the sternpost and ending at the stem; add these draughts together, and divide the sum by the number of measurements taken, including those at stem and sternpost.

		The earliest specific sense of the noun draught that exists in the written record is "the drawing of liquid into the mouth or down the throat" or "an act of drinking".
		That particular meaning dates from the mid-18th century, but a more specialized meaning, from which that one derives, was "the drawing or withdrawing of money from a stock by means of an order written in due form", dating from the mid-17th century.

		In the days of sail when Sailors were paid a pittance, seamen drank their ale in taverns whose keepers were willing to extend credit until payday.
		Since many salts were illiterate, keepers kept a tally of pints and quarts consumed by each Sailor on a chalkboard behind the bar.
		The Printing block was formatted with rows of letters placed on the block individually by the operator…the typesetter… it was an admonition to typesetters not to mix up the "p" and "q" blocks, as a block that looks like a lower-case "p" from the front, would print a "q" on paper, and visa versa.
