Draw (poker) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One is said to be drawing in a poker game if one has a hand that is incomplete and needs further cards to become valuable.
It sounds strange, but flush draws are easier to hit than straight draws, even though a straight is more probable than a flush.
The probability of completing the flush is roughly 4%, therefore drawing to a runner-runner is similar to drawing to an inside straight on the river, and the same advice applies: it's not likely to be justified, but it can be if the pot is big enough.

Draw Poker games are any games where players get at least one opportunity to discard a certain number of cards from their hand in exchange for new cards from the deck.
A player who draws one card, for example, is probably trying to complete a flush or straight, as opposed to a poker player who draws three cards who is probably only holding a pair, but one can only guess.
When determining draws of cards, the dealer must make sure that there will be enough cards in the deck should each player choose to exercise their maximum allowed number of cards on each draw.

Stud Poker has cut into the popularity of Draw Poker because there are more betting rounds (and thus, bigger pots), and there is a fascination about seeing some of the opponents' cards and trying to fathom what the hole card or cards may be.
If false openers are discovered before the draw, any other player in turn to the offender's left (excluding those who passed in their first turns) may open, and play continues; but any player except the offender may withdraw from the pot any chips he put in after the pot was falsely opened.

If Poker was based primarily on Poque, we must assume that it developed naturally within a community that was already acquainted with a 20-card vying game and decided to use the same stripped pack for a new version of Poque based only on the vying section.
