Waterford sports - hurling, football, gaa scores, sports coverage
Drimnagh knew that anything but a victory virtually put them out of the play offs whilst a win for Wildcats almost guaranteed them a quarter-final spot.
Drimnagh went up by two when Tanya McGrath scored only to see Wildcats Melissa Prunty cancel her score out with a superb basket from the corner.
Now the fat was in the fire with both sets of supporters in a frenzy of excitement and with only one minute 40 seconds on the clock both coaches were working hard in a time out to instruct their teams as to how to find those all important scores to win the game.

The Kingdom - 2004/01/08: Basketball: Dynamic Scruffys shock Drimnagh
Tamala Vaughn replied for Drimnagh but Scruffys were moving very well and further scores came from Catriona O Connell and Diane Griffin and a three-pointer from captain Lynn Jones.
Drimnagh kept plugging away but struggled to contain the dominant Sarah Cartmill and successive baskets from her kept Scruffys ahead by 59-50 as the game entered the final quarter.
The Drimnagh challenge collapsed after this and their fouling tactics were punished by Scruffys who had further scores from the free throw line from Cartmill, Jones and O Connell to secure a 10-point win.

The Kingdom - 2004/12/02: Basketball: Unlucky St Pauls lose to Dynamos
This season was seen as the year that the Killarney side consolidated their standing as one of the top teams in Ireland based on recent years but this notion seems a long way off at the moment.
Drimnagh are a very tough side and Jolie McKiernan, a 6’2” post, enjoyed a tremendous first half, scoring 21 points, but the home side worked very well in the second half to neutralise her threat and kept her down to just five points.
The Killarney side did to Drimnagh what the Dublin side had done to St Pauls in the second quarter — restricting them to just 13 points and gave themselves a fighting chance, trailing 59-51 entering the final quarter.
