After three underperforming albums, Grand Drive may be expected to lose their appetite, but the best moments here rank with their finest work.
Grand Drive’s last studio album “See the Morning In” was Americana UK’s album of the year for 2002, so they’ve got a lot to live up to, and the good news is that by and large they succeed.
It probably won’t be a breakthrough album for them commercially but their reputation builds and builds, and on that basis alone this record will do them no harm at all.

Yeeeeesssss, I am not a minimal fan at all and was a little disappointed by their last album Meter, but this one is a true masterpiece...
the first part of the album tears your head off, the middle slows the beat but keeps the intenisty high and stretches your mind, and the final part settles you into a deep groove, before finishing with a track of quiet rolling beauty..coming soon this summer to a big sound system near you...
Huh...Very Good One...Especially after not such a good album METER...This album is very diverse and variable...It has pretty good minimal tracks and some nice melodies in some tracks...The quality is strongly present here and they get much more progression in their tracks on this one...

 Drive by Alan Jackson Cassette Tape
DRIVE was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Country Album.
The obvious talking point on Alan Jackson's hugely successful DRIVE is "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)," a song written in response to the September 11 attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center.
I love "Drive" it reminds me of the person who taught me to drive, someone I loved with all my heart and she took her life.

 * Dusted Reviews - Mulholland Drive *
While listeners may not come away from the album humming Badalamenti’s score, they will be moved by the composer’s patience and creepy evocation of the film’s ambiance.
Mulholland Drive also contains two older vocal tracks: “Bring It On Home” by Sonny Boy Williamson, and Linda Scott’s “I’ve Told Every Little Star.” The latter, a Doo-Wop piece sung in a pre-adolescent falsetto, is reminiscent of high school proms and James Dean idolatry—and is perfectly executed in that eerie 1950’s style.
Still, the album’s standout track, as well as the pivotal moment in the film, is Rebekah Del Rio’s cover of the Roy Orbison classic, “Crying.” In true Lynchian fashion, Orbison’s tune is sung not only a capella, but also in Spanish.

 Review of Alan Jackson's new album Drive
On Drive, Jackson mixes wistful visions with satire, sorrow, and eloquence, using old cars--"Drive (For Daddy Gene)"--to explore growing up and, on "Work in Progress," spoofing a woman obsessed with "improving" her man. As usual, he explores love's joy ("When Love Comes Around") and anguish ("The Sounds").
Seems anyone who learned to drive behind the wheel with daddy beside them can relate to what a wonderful song "DRIVE" is. "A Little Bluer Than That" reveals a classic country song sung in perfect tune with Alan's baritone voice.
In "Drive", Alan sings about learning to drive his dad's boat and pickup truck and later teaching his daughters to drive his old Jeep.
