A drone is a male bee or ant that does no work, living off the labour of others, which aptly describes the attitude toward labour held by most of the rich, idle young men who are members of the Drones Club.
Previously owned by Marco Pierre White and Piers Adam, the Club was purchased by Ben Goldsmith, the youngest son of Sir James Goldsmith, in 2004.
There are actually two Drones Clubs: one on Pont Street and a smaller club on St George's Street.

The Ganymede club book is going to be a factor in the sequal- all relevant traits of an employer is to be entered, but this may be a confidence too far.
Well, I suppose that clears that up- the club book was only a real risk if Jeeves turned Bertie down- as well as 'Dangerous Aunts' and 'Regrettable sartorial taste', 'Liable to put the moves on his valet' might have been a required entry.
Canon does say that Jeeves removed Bertie's pages from the club book, and gives the kerfluffle surrounding the Market Snodsbury election as the reason, but...given the reverence with which Jeeves treats the book in earlier stories, it's not stretching it too much to surmise that there might have been additional reasons contributing to the decision.
