Drop kicks have exceptionally been up to 60-70 metres long in the past in rugby, though being able to perform a 50 metre drop kick is considered a significant achievement.
The only execution of the drop kick in recent years in the NFL was by Doug Flutie, reserve quarterback of the New England Patriots, against the Miami Dolphins on January 1, 2006 for an extra point after a touchdown.
The kick was considered a drop kick and it led to a change of possession and the team that punted regained possession of the ball.

The drop kick quick kick field goal would make more sense at the high school and youth levels because the kickers there are used to using the two-inch block and the absence of the block on the field would generally persuade the defense that no field-goal attempt was forthcoming.
But the drop kick, which does count for two or three points if it goes through the uprights, is punt like, especially if the ball is horizontal rather than vertical in the drop.

Before mine in 1990 the last "drop kick" extra point in NCAA history was in 1950 by Gene Simmons of West Virginia, he kicked 19 of 20 extra points by drop kick that season.
Since a drop kick is the only way to score points with the ball-in-hand from a kick, I'm a bit surprised they haven't been attempted on botched snaps.

In soccer aka football, when you kick the ball as a goalie, or clear the ball it typically does not hit the ground, hence is not a drop kick.
While drop kicks were far more common in indoor soccer (which of course has different rules due to the smaller pitch and other factors), I've defintely seen drop kicks (ball touching the ground and barely coming up before being kicked) many times.
