		Willem Drost (1633 - 1659) was a Dutch Baroque painter and printmaker.
		Both Drost’s and Rembrandt’s masterpieces were acquired by the Louvre in Paris.
		Drost had evolved into one of Rembrandt's most talented disciples, so much so that his 1654 painting titled: Portrait of a Young Woman with her Hands Folded on a Book was one of the ones attributed to Rembrandt for more than 300 years.

		Drost's guilty plea to obscenity charges in 1982 was overturned on appeal because the sentencing judge had failed to tell Drost that his sentence could be enhanced or reduced by aggravating or mitigating circumstances.
		The charges against Drost include procuring a minor by false inducement for lewd acts, exhibiting pornography to a minor, false imprisonment, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, immoral conduct in the presence of a minor, procurement by fraudulent inducement for prostitution, pandering and two counts of child endangerment.
		Pittman said Drost would be on probation for five years, fined up to $5,000, have no contact with minors other than relatives or youths who have permission from their parents or guardians, not be allowed to possess pornographic materials, and be required to register as a sex offender.
