Sjodin was carried to her grave in Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake Saturday after an emotional funeral under the tall pines and old oaks of Grandview Lodge, where more than 1,500 people celebrated the young woman for, in an uncle's words, "showing the world that love is greater than evil, more lasting than sorrow."
Many people also wore the pink buttons bearing an image of Sjodin smiling and the words, "Come home, Dru Sjodin," part of a fiercely determined effort to keep her name and face before the public in the five months she was missing.
Sjodin's body was found April 17 in a deep, wooded ravine about 1 mile west of Crookston, Minn., almost at the start of the first large-scale search by law enforcement officers and volunteers since mass searches were suspended with the onset of winter in mid-December.

On December 2, a suspect, 50-year-old registered level III sex offender Alfonso Rodriguez, Jr., was arrested in connection with Sjodin's disappearance.
