A dry port is a term sometimes used to describe a yard used to place containers or conventional bulk cargo, usually connected to a seaport by rail or road.
While the term airport is derived from port, such places are never referred to as ports, except when international airports (as well as some land border crossings) are referred to as ports of entry.

Livestock warehouse at the Port Djibouti,  which was abandoned for the last four years, is not in a position to properly handle export livestock from Ethiopia and the facilities should be more efficient than before, according to a representative from ELFORA, one of the leading livestock exporter company.
Port officials however respond to the claim saying that Ethiopian livestock exporters should be more practical and should start to export livestock before demanding for an improved livestock warehouse.
Zewge said that offices, which work for the dry port and which should have been located at the dry port area are located at the main Port of Djibouti, hence making business more complicated.
