 | | Dubois County is divided into 12 Civil Townships as follows: Bainbridge, Boone, Cass, Columbia, Ferdinand, Hall, Harbison, Jackson, Jefferson, Madison, Marion and Patoka. |
 | | Dubois County was organized by Legislative act December 18, 1817, which became effective February 1, 1818. |
 | | By a supplementary act of the Legislature of January 30, 1830, commissioners were ordered to meet at Portersville in August 1830, and select a new County Seat "as near the center of the county as possible." The town of Jasper was chosen and has remained the County Seat to the present day. |
