		Children were drilled on a regular basis to, upon nuclear attack, duck and cover under their desk.
		Despite the film's amusing flaws (or rather because of them), Duck and Cover has become a cult hit and is still shown today on television programs that are discussing the Cold War.
		Although many look back on the Duck and Cover film as being the innocent product of a simpler time, others condemn it for being not a safety film at all but a propaganda film to keep the Cold War on the forefront of every American youngster's mind.

	Duck Soup (1933)
		The outrageous film was both a critical and commercial failure at the time of its release - audiences were taken aback by such preposterous political disrespect, buffoonery and cynicism at a time of political and economic crisis, with Roosevelt's struggle against Depression in the US amidst the rising power of Hitler in Germany.
		Fortunately, the film was rediscovered by a generation of 1960s college students, and by revival film festivals and museum showings.
		Their next film (without Zeppo), for MGM and its producer Irving Thalberg, Hollywood's most prestigious studio, was their landmark film A Night at the Opera (1935), with a more developed and polished plot-line.

		Duck and Cover, the "educational" video produced by the Civil Defense Administration has achieved a certain degree of renown in recent years for its campy qualities, but when one considers that Duck and Cover was actually presented to the public as a practical defense against nuclear war, the film quickly becomes a horrible farce.
		The worst part of it is not that the United States government insists in the film that global nuclear war is "survivable" in any meaningful sense.
