DuckTales is an animated series produced by The Walt Disney Company starring characters from the Donald Duck universe as largely created by Carl Barks, namely Scrooge McDuck and his grandnephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
DuckTales was the most successful of Disney's early attempts to create high-quality animation for a TV animated series (earlier shows included The Wuzzles[?] and The Gummi Bears in 1985).

DuckTales had a specific charm that no other cartoon of its generation could muster up; sure, Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers came fairly close and offered a better variety of main characters than DuckTales (although don't get me wrong when I say no one can top Scrooge McDuck as top dog- or duck).
DuckTales was centered around a single town throughout most of the episodes (and those episodes were even better than the travelogues), with the expeditions being the occasional treat for Scrooge and his nephews.
While it produced nearly 100 episodes in total—-and not all were grand slams—the series remains as a footnote in exactly how cartoons can be silly, loveable and fun while still maintaining a sense of adventure and exploration.

Scrooge McDuck may be a spendthrift who's devoted to the pursuit of riches, but it turns out that he's also an adventurous, worldly duck who can occasionally be almost compassionate when it comes to his family.
Though I was more a fan of the superhero variety, I occasionally read the "lighter" titles, which included such fare as "Archie" and Carl Banks' "Uncle Scrooge." It is the latter that served as the basis for the series from which this compilation is culled.
In all, "DuckTales" belongs in the cartoon hall of fame as a prime example of a program that is definitely "family friendly" and non-condescending to small fry, stimulating as well as entertaining.

I recently bought all 100 episodes of Ducktales, unfortunately the qaulity of the DVD's are poor (I knew they were homemade, but the person who sold them to me said that the picture quality was 9 out of 10), but watchable for the most part.
I just always like the episodes when Scrooge, his nephews and niece, and the Duck pilot(cant remember his name but he was funny) would work together.
Again, another Ducktales creation that has not been seen or heard from since the end of Ducktales.
