The rank of Kingsman is agreed in the Formation Committee representing the three old regiments as the rank for private soldiers in the King’s, Lancashire and Border Regiment.
In the King’s Regiment we have one charity, the King’s Regiment Trust, which holds two collections, the Regimental Museum collection in Liverpool and the Museum of the Manchester Regiment in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Trustees of the King’s Regiment Museum Trust have been asked to continue to act separately from the amalgamated regiment to safeguard the heritage of the King’s Regiment, the King’s Regiment (Liverpool) and the Manchester Regiment.

The Queen's Lancashire Regiment (QLR) is an infantry regiment of the British Army, part of the Kings Division.
It was formed in 1970 by the amalgamation of the two remaining Lancashire infantry regiments, the Lancashire Regiment (Prince of Wales Volunteers) and the Loyal Regiment (North Lancashire).
The latest changes will be the Queen's Lancashire Regiment would be merged with the King's Regiment and the Kings Own Royal Border Regiment into the two battalion Duke of Lancasters Regiment (King's Lancashire and Border).

 Commemorative Roll of Honour
Alfred's DCM was gifted to the Royal Scots regiment in 1979 by his son Dennis Holland and is on display in the Regiment's museum in Edinburgh Castle.
Mobilised in September 1939 the regiment moved to France as part of the 51st Highland Division in January 1940.
In February 1940 an exchange of units took place and the 77th Field Regiment, along with the 6th (Perthshire) Battalion, The Black Watch, was transferred to the 4th Infantry Division, a Regular Army Division with the British Expeditionary Force.

The “Border” was the regiment of both counties, to which flocked the volunteers of the First World War, as can be seen from the war memorials.
Originally all the foot regiments of infantry of the line (of the line of battle), were just numbered in the order in which they became part of the British Army (he Brigade of Guards is excluded from this reckoning of seniority).
The Kings Own Border Regiment is lucky in having the Kings Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) in its make-up because the Kings Own was the 4th of Foot, raised in 1680 – the fourth senior regiment of infantry.

The Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry was based in the NW until the early 90s until it amalgamted with various other yeomanry regts to become D Sqn (DLOY) of the Royal Mercian and Lacastrian Yeomanry.
For those who don't know the Duke of Lancaster is the Queen - yes, she does take the title Duke.
I was once wore the Kings capbadge, attended the tercentenary celebrations of the regiment many moons ago now (how many VCs will this new Regiment have to its credit, anyone done the math???).

A new plaque has been put up with the names of those Perseans who died in WW1 and were not on the memorial previously.
Its Lancasters took part in the strategic bomber offensive for the remainder of the war, and after a few months on transport duties, the squadron was disbanded on 14 October 1945.
In April 1940 he was with 103 Maintenace Unit in Aboukir, Egypt before becoming a mechanic/ground crew on the Greece-Albanian border, employed to try and salvage planes that had made false landings.
