Minor characters in The Railway Series - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ivo Hugh was named after the Chief Mechanical Engineer for the Skarloey Railway, and the naming of the engine was an idea by both all the engines on the Island of Sodor and the Director of the Railway, The Thin Controller.
Duke worked on the Mid Sodor Railway from its opening to its closure and is regarded as a fusspot and is nicknamed "Granpuff" by the other engines.
Indeed, every engine on the Skarloey Railway in the Railway Series has a similar counterpart on the Talyllyn Railway, with the exception of Duke, which was based on Prince from the Ffestiniog Railway.

Duke   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-11)
Originally called "The Prince" (hence "The Duke" on the model MSR), his only remaining brother still in steam is "Palmerston" from 1864.
This engine appears to be similar to the Welsh Highland Railway's former 4-6-0T 10-12-D class No 590, which was built by the Baldwin Works in the USA in 1917 and came to Europe to run the 2ft gauge lines behind the trenches of the Western Front.
However, Richard Greenhough of the Corris Railway points out that Duke's shed is modelled on that of the Snailbeach District Railway, which was a lonely outpost of the Col. Stephens Empire in Shropshire, England.

Action Vault - Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project Preview
As incisive as Duke's putdowns are, he needs some serious firepower to cut through his chemically-altered foes, and to this end a number of weapons have been implemented, including a GLOPP gun which miniaturizes opponents to make them more amenable to Duke's sole of boot to head interfacing.
Graphically, Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project is very much a contemporary shooter, being based upon SCS Software's Prism engine, which has been utilized admirably to render the levels and their occupants in full 3D.
The Duke and enemy character models are detailed and decorated with vivid, clearly-defined textures, and are accompanied by smooth animations, which in the protagonist's case, ably portray his runs, slides and death-defying pull-ups from the edges of the Big Apple's buildings.

Duke also comes fully equipped with the indeed satisying twit-twit sounding Machine Gun Cannon as well as the explosive pipebombs.
The easiest one, "Piece of cake" is not so hard when you play around in the levels abit. After that, you may be ready to tackle on "Let's rock", "Come get some" and "Damn I'm good" which gets harder and harder by changing the gunpower of the enemies and adding more enemies to the level.
The only negative thing with Duke Nukem 3D may be the engine it runs from.

Perhaps the earliest example of an engine being repainted in Thomas livery was the Talyllyn Railway's Sir Haydn, which was repainted in the early 1980s to resemble Sir Handel as a tribute to Rev. W.
This engine was acquired as a shunter by the railway society, and its blue livery meant that it was quickly nicknamed 'Thomas'.
