A lot of people really love their comics and turn to them first when the mag.
The comics in general are rather "wasted space" to me - "Downer" at least is interesting to look at, but the rest is....
The comics are one of the things I will greatly miss.

Comic books are also episodic like roleplaying games; each issue follows the next, like the adventures in a campaign.
Comic books often use flashback recaps to summarize important information for the reader, like the history of a particular villain or the origin of the hero.
Comic book publishers have devised many different formats and styles for comic books that can also be used as models for your game.

 UGO.com Games - Dungeon Siege
There was a time in a spider-filled dungeon when I simply walked my team into a huge, infested room, filled to the brim with baddies, and left the computer to get dinner… only I forgot to pause it.
Dungeon Siege also offers a solid multiplayer option that allows people to take one of their party members to fight online, but it is not nearly as well implemented.
Gameplay-wise, dungeons begin to fall for quantity, rather than quality, and you spend way too much time killing hundreds of the same monsters over and over again.

 IGN: Chocobo's Dungeon 2 Review
While some Final Fantasy fans may be happy to see some of their favorite characters featured in the game, I found it to be a blatant attempt to try and abuse the FF franchise, without making any real effort at developing the characters in a realistic fashion.
The dungeons are randomly generated; hence the game's replay value is potentially limitless because no two games will ever be exactly alike.
The downer is the fact that the random dungeons don't really offer that much in variety as the floors all seem to look very similar and the designs are rather boring.

One is a "Shuffle dungeon." It features irregular-shaped areas, while a "Random dungeon" features square-like rooms with long hallways in between them.

Sequential Tart - A Comics Industry Web Zine (Volume II, Issue 8, August 1999)
Comics are not an afterthought to games, cards, or toys as they are in too many stores in my opinion.
Some documentation of introducing your community to comics is needed such as if you've donated comics to schools or libraries.
Before I owned the store it was called 'Dungeon Comics' which I always hated because that name brings to mind gaming which hardly fits my idea of a "comic book store" and I think that name reinforces the cliched images that come to the layman's (or laywoman's) mind when they think of comic stores.

DUNGEON — Lewis Trondheim and Joann Sfar’s popular fantasy-comedy series — is back.
DUNGEON combines suspenseful adventure with a spoof of heroic fantasy in telling the tales of a castle filled with monsters.
His dungeon is actually a theme park that attracts nearly everyone in the region -- including Dungeon’s own creatures, much to the annoyance of their irritable boss, the Keeper.

Their “present day” Dungeon Zenith is a wonderful parody of sword and sorcery stories while still having a strong backbone of its own, and the “prequel” Dungeon Early Years installments have been an entertaining mix of intrigue and swashbuckling.
Trondheim and Sfar’s writing in Dungeon Twilight (the first four volumes of which are collected into two books for the English-language edition) is bordering on the edge of depressing, especially in what was the original first volume of this storyline.
It’s interesting, because I think that’s where Dungeon Twilight really finds its niche as they begin to focus on a combination of large ideas (floating planets, islands floating in the sky) and small, interpersonal concepts (trying to break with tradition, the curse of immortality, rewriting one’s own history to justify actions).

 Dudley's Dungeon - Comixpedia
Because NetHack randomly generates most of the dungeon, the dungeon shown in the comic is designed to look similar to ones which NetHack generates.
However, the "frail, sickly goblins" from the comic 13 March 2006, who die from the wind of a nearby opening door, do not actually exist in the game.
Google often has trouble producing relevant ads for Dudley's dungeon, because of the highly unusual combinations of characters which make up the comic itself (that's right, Dudley's Dungeon is rendered in text, not an image!).

IGN: Reader Review of: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team
Each dungeon features its own music, and with the game containing way more than 20 of those, I guess players won't be disappointed in that area.
Those new Pokemon can't really be caught, but if you defeat one of them in a dungeon (or if he joins you as part of the story) and you already unlocked the proper "Friend's Area" he will join you in there at the end of that dungeon, provided he is alive.
Also, this game has trading compatibility with "Pokemon: Fushigi no Dungeon Blue" for Nintendo DS, and perhaps having both will carry some bonus to the player, but I can't be sure since, despite having heard they are exactly the same game, I didn't get any chance to play that version.

 Dungeon
A dungeon (derived from the Old French donjon, from the Latin dominus, "lord"), in its original medieval usage, was the keep, the main tower of a castle which formed the final defensive position the garrison could retreat to when outer fortifications were overcome.
The dungeon was a safe, if not comfortable, place to keep prisoners and was used mainly for this purpose, once more luxurious housing for the lord of the castle was constructured.
Its meaning has evolved to also mean an underground prison or vault, typically built underneath a castle.

So, if comic books are real literature, I was thinking about favorite books and favorite comic books, and if putting them in the same category is appropriate.
Comic books are just one type of literature, however, so just as a creepy horror novel is different than the latest pile of crap churned out by John Grisham, so to are comic books different than other forms of literature, and perhaps deserve their own category in my annals of favorites.
