Dunnes Stores looks set to be asked by the High Court to hand over sensitive internal documents,including records of minutes of company board meetings.
According to reports, Dunnes Stores has told Whelan Frozen Foods since the court case began that it plans to terminate the distributor’s contract by the end of February next year, and that it wants to end the company's contract for distributing its textiles within six months.
Whelan applied successfully for an interlocutory injunction to block the November margin reduction and Dunnes Stores was instructed to repay over €650,000, which it withheld when it imposed the new distribution rates, pending a full hearing of the case.

Dunnes Stores has begun a High Court action seeking to have the appointment of an authorised officer by the Minister for Enterprise Trade and Employment set aside.
This litigation between Dunnes and the Minister is back in the High Court for a rehearing by direction of the Supreme Court.
In July 1998, using the Companies Act, the Minister appointed an authorised officer to Dunnes Stores Ireland Company and Dunnes Stores (Ilac Centre) Ltd. The case is expected to last at least a week.
