The mansion, 3 miles WNW of the hill, and 7 NNE of Perth, has a fine southern exposure, and is an elegant edifice, greatly improved and modernised about 1830, with extensive and beautiful grounds.—Ord.

At one time taking a baby or toddler up a hill was unheard off but now with well designed gear such as backpacks and all-terrain buggies, parenthood no longer heralds the end of hill-walking activities and many Munroes have been scaled by tiny passengers.
These walks have been selected with three year old legs in mind and all have been completed by three/four year olds on foot and younger toddlers (1-2 years) in all-terrain buggies but should also be suitable for toddlers and older babies in backpacks.
