Duo Interpretation (often shortened to "Duo Interp" or just "Duo") is an event in National Forensic League (and NFL-related) high school forensics compeitions.
In a typical round of Duo Interp, five to seven pairs of two performers will each perform a "cutting" (excerpt) from a published play.

Duo Interpretation shall be defined as a cutting (scene) from any published literature, humorous~or serious, presented by two individuals; presentation must be from manuscript,and the focus should not be to each other; ten minutes maximum.
Although it is difficult to define the difference between interptation and acting, the interpreters should realize that the use of imaginary props or participants, the attempt to fully portray props, participants, and characterizations and use of gestures which transcend the interpreter's platform can never be considered appropriate to the interpreter's legitimate function.
The interpreters are expected to present, through original remarks and reading of selections, greater insight into the literature than the audience might gain from a casual reading of the manuscript.

Forensics has eight categories: dramatic interpretation, reading of prose, reading of poetry, extemporaneous speaking, original oratory, impromptu speaking, radio announcing, and duo interpretation.
While the school teams excel in competitions, the members and coaches are also passionate about the benefits of skills learned through debate and forensics, both academically and personally.
