| | NORTHERN LINE NEWS - Summer 1999 |
 | | We feel strongly that the Northern Rail Trail should not become a noisy, dusty, polluting racetrack for a few, but instead should be a park - a linear park - running through the beautiful New Hampshire countryside and available for all to enjoy: pedestrians, bicyclists, equestrians, and snowmobilers alike. |
 | | After considering a rising threat that the Northern and other NH rail trails would be open to motorized use, the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Northern Rail Trail in Grafton County (FNRT) voted at its May meeting to suspend its volunteer trail building efforts until further notice. |
 | | However, the rail trails are not the appropriate place, especially this trail that travels through towns and residential areas. |
