This is mainly in Dutton Park (19.4% of all housing), Yeerongpilly (14.8%) and Woolloongabba (10.2%).
Dutton Park Ward is a socially and ethnically diverse area.
It is bounded to the north by the Dutton Park Primary School, the east by passenger and freight rail lines, the south is adjacent residential allotments and the west boundary is contained by Annerley Road.

Dutton Park Cemetery also known as (South Brisbane Cemetery) first opened in 1870 and overlooks the Brisbane River on Annerley Rd at Dutton Park.
One of the oldest cemetery's of Brisbane but sadly like Toowong Cemetery and others around Brisbane, Dutton Park has had a lot of vandalism done to the headstones and graves over the years and sadly some are missing or broken beyond repair.
Dutton Park Cemetery has many of it's headstones still intact (as shown below) and well worth a look if your one of theses strange people (like me) that LOVE going to the cemetery.

Much of the John S. Park neighborhood was owned by the Duttons, who moved to Las Vegas from Lincoln, Neb., in 1919 in search of a drier climate for health reasons.

Natural resources available at Dutton’s Cave Park are Dutton's Cave, four large springs and a gorge cut deep into the limestone formation.
In the fall of 1848, Lorenzo Dutton, Major Henry Jones, and William W. Bailey were hiking the little creek that rises in Section 34 of Dover Township in Fayette County.
Have each group discuss reactions to the park visit and compose one or two questions that were not answered on the field trip.

 CHS: Civil War Monuments of Connecticut:
The "land of 38 [square] rods [0.23 acre] together with the Soldiers Monument thereon, known as 'Dutton Park'" were created by the Arthur H. Dutton Post, No. 36, Grand Army of the Republic, and deeded to the town on April 4, l904 (WLR 93/590).
Dutton Post, No. 36, was organized in 1869 by ten veterans of the Civil War.
SOLDIERS MONUMENT, Wallingford, is located in the center of a small narrow open space called Dutton Park at the north end of Main Street in a residential neighborhood.

The Dutton Park Save Our Suburb Group is made up of residents who live within the suburb of Dutton Park and immediate surrounds.
It seems that with the impending Boggo Road Gaol Redevelopment Project (350 residential units are proposed) and possible construction of the Green Bridge, Dutton Park has suddenly become a "hot spot" for developers.
The group is also calling for Council to uphold the results of public consultation held by Tim Quinn in late 2000 where a proposal to increase densities in various areas around Dutton Park was tabled.

Another dual guage line branches off at Dutton Park by means of a long concrete viaduct and travels alongside the Cleveland suburban line until Lindum where it branches off to the Port of Brisbane at Fisherman's Island.
The section between Park Road and Roma Street is only used by the once daily return Sydney XPT although peak hour citytrain services (such as Gold Coast trains) also use the narrow guage part of the track.
The section between Dutton Park and the NSW border is used by both goods and passenger trains with peak-hour citytrains also using the track between Dutton Park and Salisbury.

Fourteen feet tall water gush in stainless steel with an eight foot tall steel plow that hit the ground water causing the gush of water that gave life to the pioneer farm of the Dutton's.

I hope the designers consider the fact that both the Dutton Park and UQ sides are part of a major cycling route (the River Ride).
At present, the Dutton Park side is quiet and continuous, until all the morning parkers arrive.
If busloads of people are being dropped off on the Dutton Park side, then that implies that busloads of people need to be shuttled across the river.

The West River Railroad ran through the park.
The old railroad bed is now used as the trail that leads along the West River to Ball Mountain Dam.

Councillor Newman said he was proud to kick off construction of the Green Bridge, between Dutton Park and St Lucia, which will be the first bridge in Australia that was designed solely for buses, pedestrians and cyclists.
Cr Newman said the Aquila, equipped with a 200-tonne crane and a drilling rig, was yesterday floated up the Brisbane River from Hemmant to Dutton Park where it will be used during the construction of the Green Bridge.
Cr Newman said up to 100 people would be employed during construction of the Green Bridge, which is expected to be open for UQ’s first semester in 2007.
