		Dyker Heights is a neighborhood in southwestern borough of Brooklyn in New York City, USA.
		Dyker Heights is bounded to the west by 7th Avenue, to the north by 65th Street, to the east by 14th Avenue and to the south by 86th Street, excepting the Dyker Beach Golf Course, which extends to the Belt Parkway.
		The 2001 televised documentary "Dyker Lights" (shown on PBS for its cultural perspective of the community) was produced as an insight to the neighborhood and stories involved with the Christmas celebration lights.

		Fossella said he is working closely with the Dyker Heights Civic Association, which first alerted him to the graffiti, to address the problem.
		Fossella recently made an on-site inspection of the area with a member of the Dyker Heights Civic Association and found that several of the mailboxes along 11th Avenue, 12th Avenue, and Fort Hamilton Parkway in the 11228 zip code were marked with graffiti.

	A Dyker Heights Xmas, 2003
		On a slushy night Chris Taeger led a ride from City Hall in Manhattan, past Prospect Park and on to Dyker Heights in order to view the Christmas lights decorating the houses.
		Long-time NYCC member Tony Mantione joined the ride in Brooklyn and later generously invited the participants in to his nearby home for refreshments and holiday cheer.

		For the last five years or so we've had the same Christmas tradition: take a cab to Park Slope for dinner with my parents (Chinese takeout), and then a drive down to Dyker Heights for the Christmas light displays.
		The lights are on 84th Street around 12th Avenue- but we always forget the exact location- this year we ended up on 18th Avenue and 86th Street before we figured it out.
		The light displays have been getting smaller- in years past, five or six houses were lit- this year, only four.
