 Bowen Homes
From Oxford, Bowen went to London, where he was called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1861, and while studying law he wrote regularly for the ''Saturday Review'', and also later for ''The Spectator''.
Bowen's services to his leader, Sir John Coleridge, helped to procure for him the appointment of junior counsel to the treasury when Sir John had passed, as he did while the trial proceeded, from the office of solicitor-general to that of attorney-general; and from this time his practice became a very large one.
The character of Charles Bowen's intellect hardly qualified him for some of the duties of a puisne judge; but it was otherwise when, in 1882, in succession to Lord Justice Holker, he was raised to the Court of Appeal.

Multiple Exemplar Training - Caroline Bowen
In a linguistic, or phonological approach to the treatment of developmental phonological disorders (Bowen and Cupples, 1999a, 1999b), children are helped to discover the linguistic rules that underlie the sound-patterns of spoken language.
In terms of the first two techniques, in PACT Therapy (Bowen and Cupples, 1999a, 1999b) minimal contrast activities (or 'minimal pair contrast therapy' (Bernthal and Bankson, 1998)) and auditory bombardment frequently overlap.

glbtq >> literature >> Bowen, Elizabeth
As Glendinning says, Bowen's friends and associates included a number of homosexual men and women, largely literary, and Bowen seems to have prided herself on her own sophistication in accepting such people and their arrangements with little thought to the conventional morality of the day.
If Bowen herself was almost exclusively heterosexual in her personal life, her vast quantity of fiction is sprinkled with people and relationships, usually coded, of either clear or ambiguous homosexuality.
Bowen's fiction was far ahead of its time and place in showing a range of homosexualities, and that element of her work merits far more attention than it has received to date.

A broad-based approach to phonological therapy © Caroline Bowen
Although it has been in the development stages for around a decade, Bowen’s (1996) approach is a relative newcomer to the clinical phonology scene, and the first phonological therapy to be tested with treated and untreated groups of children.
Bowen’s (1996) efficacy study is in the second category, utilising a longitudinal matched group design.
