E-ticket - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
For E tickets that were formerly used at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, see E ticket.
These tickets, usually for an airline flight, but sometimes used for entertainment venues, exist only in digital form.
E-tickets are a cheaper and more efficient method for airlines to deal with tickets by eliminating the manual tasks required to process and account for paper airline tickets.

Ticket Scalping - Full Text   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
The diversion of tickets from public sale to ticket brokers by employees or agents of a venue, without the express authorization of the owner or operator of the venue or of the producer or promoter, should be illegal even without proof of bribery.
The ticket broker business is no longer conducted in a particular county, on the street or in an office, as when the law was written, but by telephone, fax and computer on a state-wide and inter-state basis.
They are recruited on behalf of ticket brokers by a person known as a "crew boss" who is usually visibly stationed near the scene of an on-sale with the cash for the purchase of tickets and to pay the diggers their fee -- which is said to go as high as $60.

You should always go through the ticket system to answer email- originated tickets, rather than sending mail directly to the submitter, so that a record of the dialog is maintained in the ticket history.

 Disneyland Turns 50
The term "E ticket" is so much a part of the American lexicon that astronaut Sally Ride even used it to describe her first ride in the space shuttle.
The E ticket with a capital "E" exists only in memory now, but the designation once used for Disneyland's most thrilling rides has found a lasting place in American culture.
Today only the verbal E ticket survives, and the term "E-ticket ride" lives on as an expression passed from generation to generation.

Timing of the show's departure is ironic for E!, as cabler has just scored some of its highest ratings of the recent past with "Party at the Palms," a "Wild On!"-style skein that takes place entirely at the Las Vegas resort.
DM add: E!'s eagerness to extend the relationship with Stern has been tempered by the fact that his show's risque content has limited its appeal among advertisers, meaning the net isn't reaping financial benefits commensurate with the ratings.
And E! can't afford to lose any of its strong performers: For the first quarter, E! dropped double digits in key adult 18-49 and 18-34 demos year-to-year and averaged 279,000 overall viewers in total day, 386,000 in primetime.

They had a bunch of A-Tickets for the less travelled rides, less B-Tickets for the next group of OK rides, less C-Tickets for the middle type rides, less D-Tickets for the getting cool rides, and finally about 3 or 4 E-Tickets for the cool rides.
For a grown-up an E ticket ride would be considered a sleigh ride to Hawaii or even better, a ride on a 60' french tri flying 2 of the hulls blasting way over 30 knots.
You needed the corresponding ticket to ride each class of ride, so an A ticket for an A ride, and an E ticket for an E ride.
