Edward Plunket Taylor, born January 29, 1901 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - died May 14, 1989 in Lyford Cay, New Providence, Bahamas, was a business tycoon and famous breeder of thoroughbred race horses.
Born into a wealthy family, Taylor graduated from Montreal's McGill University in 1922 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Despite his business successes, E.P. Taylor is most remembered as the owner of Windfields Farm, a thoroughbred horse breeding operation that produced Northern Dancer, the greatest sire of the 20th century.

 BookRags: Edward Plunket Taylor Biography
His contacts as a "dollar-a-year man" projected Taylor from a run-of-the-mill upper-class Canadian (who had parlayed his family's financial connections and Brading Breweries--of which he was a director at 22--into Canadian Breweries) onto the international financial stage.
Taylor withdrew from active management of Argus in 1971 and eventually sold his shares to Paul Desmarais of Power Corporation during a take-over bid.
Throughout his career Taylor moved in the top international social circles, with private memberships in the exclusive Toronto, York, and Rideau clubs in Canada; the Metropolitan and The Jockey clubs in New York; the Buck's and Turf clubs in England; and the Lyford Cay (which he created himself) in the Bahamas.

The name of Charles Darwin does not appear on the rolls of the Lodge but it is very possible that he, like Francis, was a Mason (quoted in Daniel, 34).
Being a Freemason, there is little doubt that Erasmus cribbed liberally from the Lodge's occult doctrine of 'becoming.' Before Erasmus had penned his precursory notions of progressive biological development, Freemason John Locke (1632 - 1704) extrapolated the Hindu doctrine of reincarnation into the context of metaphysical naturalism and formulated a theory of evolution (Daniel, 33-34).
