Der Aiut Alpin entschloß sich aus verschiedenen Gründen für die EC 135 (Eurocopter).
Da es aber in Italien keine EC 135 T2 gab, entschloß sich der Aiut Alpin selbst eine Maschine zu bestellen.
Fotos der Entstehung des EC 135 T2 Der Hubschrauber hat mit medizinischer Ausrüstrung, Seilwinde und Doppellasthaken 3.5 Milionen Euro gekostet und wurde mit einem Pooldarlehen für 15 Jahre von 5 Raiffeisenkassen finanziert (Kastelruth, Gröden, Gadertal, Bruneck und die Zentralkasse Bozen)

The helicopter is an armour-protected and armed version of the proven federal and civil EC 135 helicopter, of which more than 300 have been ordered.
The engine for the EC 635 T1 is the Turbomeca Arrius 2B2, rated at 417kW continuous power, whilst the EC 635 P1 is fitted with the Pratt and Whitney Canada PW206B2, rated at 419kW continuous power.
The EC 635 is an armour-protected and armed version of the civil EC 135 helicopter.

Eurocopter's EC 135 is a lightweight, twin-engine, low operating costs, multi-mission helicopter intended for the civil market.
An EC 135 assembly line was established to set up in Albacete under management of Eurocopter Espana to deliver these 48 helicopters from 2006 through to 2014.
Two EC 135 are intended for VIP transport while the remaining 18 EC 635 helicopters were purchased as a replacement for aging Alouette III in the utility and advanced training role.
