  ECAC Hockey League - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The ECAC Hockey League is one of the six conferences that compete in NCAA Division I ice hockey.
Six of the members of the ECAC Hockey League are also members of the Ivy League, and all of the Ivy universities with Division I ice hockey programs are also members of the ECAC Hockey League.
From 1962 to 1992, the ECAC Championship Game was held in Boston, Massachusetts, at the Boston Arena from 1962 to 1966, and at Boston Garden from 1966 to 1992.

 Niagara Hockey Teams Won't Join ECAC - NCAA Sports.com
ECAC acting hockey commissioner Steve Hagwell said the conference is still conducting its search and it would be inappropriate for him to comment.
The ECAC began a search last spring to replace Vermont, which is leaving to join Hockey East at the start of the 2005-06 season.
The ECAC is a more established league, that features 12 men's and 11 women's programs, including Harvard.

The ECAC Classic, resurrected in 2001 by the Eastern College Athletic Conference, matches the regular-season football champions from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the Northeast Conference.

If improving the ECAC's performance in the NCAA tournament was a consideration, the effects of the change will be mixed.

Tickets for the upcoming 2002 ECAC JPMorgan Chase Women's Hockey Championship are now on sale at the Dartmouth ticket office.
Eight of the nine teams in the ECAC Division I Women's Hockey League-North qualify for the playoffs and will be seeded based on the regular season standings.
The format for the quarterfinals, new for the 2002 tournament, will be the best of a three-game series and will be played on the weekend of March 8, 9 and 10 at the homes of the highest seeds.

The top-seeded Harvard Men's Tennis Team won its third consecutive ECAC Championship in dramatic fashion over the weekend of Oct. 8-11, rallying from a 3-0 deficit to edge second-seeded Columbia 4-3 in the finals at Princeton's Lenz Tennis Center.
Styperek lost the first set, 6-4, took the second, 6-3, and was up a break in the third when news came in that his match would determine the ECAC championship.
Coming down off the high of winning the ECAC Championships at Princeton, the Crimson struggled on their home courts in the 1999 Harvard Fall Invitational tournament.

The ECAC is committed to providing a season ending championship opportunity to those Division I ECAC member schools that are not currently members of the EAWRC Sprints League, starting in 2003.
The viability of this new championship is at least in part contingent upon the NCAA Division I Competition Committee recognizing this new regatta, the EAWRC Championships, The Western Sprints, and the South Central Championships as viable Regional Championships with at least one team automatic qualifying berth to the NCAA Division I Championships from each regatta.
The intention of the ECAC is to continue to represent our traditional Avaya constituency, REGIONAL and NATIONAL, as best we can, while at the same time trying to continue to provide exciting competitive racing opportunities in a championship setting and format for ECAC Division I, Division II, and Division III schools.

ALBANY, N.Y. - The ECAC Hockey League claimed full ownership of the first-ever Commissioners' Cup Series Wednesday evening (Jan. 12), as Dartmouth defeated New Hampshire 9-8 in the final Cup game for the ECACHL and Hockey East.
The ECAC Hockey League entered the weekend knowing it had secured at least a tie for the Cup, as the league had a 5-1-0 record to No.2 Hockey East's 4-2-0 mark.
The ECAC Hockey League won the Cup with victories by Rensselaer (5-1 vs. Army), St. Lawrence (6-4 vs. Miami), Brown (2-1 vs. Minnesota-Duluth), Harvard (4-1 vs. Maine), Union (4-0 vs. Connecticut) and Dartmouth (9-8 vs. New Hampshire).

Washington, PA (5-19-06) - Behind the masterful pitching of Kevin McHale and the bat of last year's ECAC South Region Championship MVP Mike Leedock, Keystone advanced to the 2006 ECAC South region baseball title game with a 4-0 victory over Penn State Behrend.
Playing on the same field where he earned MVP honors for last year's championships, Leedock belted a two-run homer to right in the bottom half of the second to provide Keystone with more than enough offense.
With the nine-inning shut-out, Keystone has not allowed a run in ECAC play during the past two seasons.

Trinity College senior forward Tyler Rhoten has been tabbed as the ECAC Division III Men's New England Player of the Year by a vote of ECAC coaches.
On the Women's side, Meg Coffin of Bates College was named to the ECAC Division III Women's New England First Team.
Starting all 26 games this season for the Cardinals, Stubbs was the leading scorer on 16 separate occasions, averaging 15.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, both team highs.

 Amherst College Athletics: Women's Lacrosse: Jeffs Earn ECAC Honors
From the baseball team, sophomore third baseman Matt Potter (Durham, NC) was an Honorable Mention ECAC All-New England selection, as well as a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Third-Team New England Region All-American.
Amherst's women's lacrosse team finished with a 14-3 record and earned its second consecutive trip to the NCAA Final Four in 2002.
He also led the Jeffs in hits (52) and RBI's (24), was perfect on the base paths stealing six bases in six attempts and was a First-Team All-NESCAC selection.
