ECPAT UK campaigns against this modern day form of slavery and is calling on all relevant agencies to coordinate action on child protection and prevention of trafficking, and not just focus on law enforcement measures.
ECPAT UK continues to campaign for British legislation to be amended so that it protects all children, both in the UK and overseas, from commercial sexual abuse.
ECPAT UK is campaigning for a strong national plan for action for the UK to be put in place that combats the commercial sexual exploitation of children.

As well as answering these requests, staff at ECPAT International are regularly invited by various organizations to speak about its work and campaigns.
ECPAT International has constructed an Online Database which contains information on the situation of child prostitution, child pornography and the trafficking of children for sexual purposes, as well as the actions undertaken to combat them and the organizations who are active in this issue.
Since January 1999, all issues of the ECPAT International Newsletter have been available online.You may subscribe to a mailing list to receive a notification with summaries of articles when a new issue of the newsletter is released.

 Human Rights Internet - The Human Rights Databank
ECPAT was founded in May 1990 in Chiang Mia, Thailand when a group of professionals gathered to discuss the emerging problem of children being forced into prostitution to feed the demand of tourists visiting Asia.
ECPAT, with its partner organizations, UNICEF and the NGO Group on the Rights of the Child, succeeded in bringing together government and non-governmental representatives from 122 countries to adopt an Agenda for Action against three areas of commercial sexual exploitation: the prostitution of children; child pornography; and the trafficking of children for sexual purposes.
ECPAT works in these communities to educate the public that the children abused in heterosexual or homosexual relations can at no time give consent and are to be considered as crime victims.

 ECPAT Press Release on the Death Penalty
Their pronouncements and interests to re-examine the capital punishment is a welcome development for the overall effort to curb criminality in the country and to abate, if not, to eliminate the growing incidence of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
Specific for child sexual abuse cases, ECPAT believes that life imprisonment is already a sufficient punishment for offenders.
ECPAT believes there are more unreported cases of sexual abuse but with the repeal of the death penalty specifically for sexual offenses against children we expect more cases to be reported.

In August, ECPAT Australia presented the outcomes of the training programme to the International Tourism Asia (ITA) travel trade conference in Hong Kong.
ECPAT Australia has been a founding and ongoing member of the Steering Group that is overseeing the development of Australia’s National Plan to eliminate CSEC.

This report is the second part of a study undertaken by the ECPAT Europe Law Enforcement Group into trafficking in children for sexual purposes in Europe.
The Group is coordinated by ECPAT Netherlands/Defence for Children International-Section The Netherlands.
The first part of the research (‘Trafficking I’), published in 2001, had concluded that there was a need for further research in the Eastern European countries of origin, and for such research to be carried out in collaboration with partners in those countries.

 ECPAT News
The first is that ten major ISPs and ICPs in Taiwan have signed an agreement and gave ECPAT Taiwan their promise to do their parts in protecting children from harmful and illegal content on the Internet.
The agreement was signed at the celebration ceremony for ECPAT Taiwan’s 10th anniversary in late November.
The secretary general of ECPAT Taiwan, Li-Feng Lee, has been invited as one of the board members of this foundation.

Wij kozen om scheep te gaan met ECPAT (End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes) en samen een sensibilisatie campagne op te zetten rond sekstoerisme.
Tijdens de loop van dit schooljaar leerden wij de problematiek van sekstoerisme beter kennen en dit was dan weer de aanleiding om een brede waaier van activiteiten op te zetten.

ECPAT was established in 1990 as a campaign to end child prostitution in Asian tourism.
Nowadays ECPAT has widen the scope of its work to the issues of child pornography and the trafficking of children for sexual purposes and exists of more than 70 groups that are active in more than 60 countries worldwide.
This research is presented at the meeting of the Stability Pact Taskforce on Trafficking in Human Beings on 24 March 2004 in Belgrade.

 UNICEF - Second World Congress Against Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children
The Regional Consultation was co-organized by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), ECPAT International, and Save the Children Alliance for the NGO Group for the Convention on the Rights of the Child, in cooperation with the Government of Japan.

 Ecpat International
ANAIF-PIE participated in a police and magistrature training session on unlawful child treatment in a workshop on violence against girls and an ILO workshop on sex tourism in Dakar.
They elaborated a National Child Protection [against exploitation] project for transmission to UNICEF, to different government authorities concerned with juvenile affairs and to the ECPAT International Secretariat.
They will also engage in a number of awareness-raising ventures with authorities, elected representatives and the population about CSEC in Mauritania, organise seminars in Nouakchott, Nouadhibou and Rosso; and organise a child sex tourism awareness-raising seminar in Atar and Nouakchott.
