 Edt
Edt was a text editor that was developed by Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) for use on its PDP-11 series of computers, and later for its VAX/VMS series as well.
DEC later developed a powerful language for designing text editors called TPU, which included an emulator of the Edt screen mode keypad for the benefit of those who were used to using those keys a particular way during their editing sessions.
Users could configure default actions for their editor by placing edt commands in a file which would be executed upon starting the editor.

 TPU_INFO
When migrating from OpenVMS to NT, Windows, and/or UNIX, it is most beneficial to remain consistent with native application development tools, such as the TPU text editor with its EVE and EDT interfaces.
As you integrate NT, Windows, and/or UNIX into your OpenVMS environment, there is no reason to use multiple editors.
nu/TPU offers full emulation of these interfaces, and is compatible with DEC TPU so that customizations can be ported to a new target system without change.
