 | | The Exclusive Economic Zone or EEZ is one of the zones considered in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea the Sea (known as Law of the Sea or UNCLOS). |
 | | In the EEZ the state has the right to explore, exploit, to manage and to conserve, the natural resources, living or not living, of the waters superjacent to the sea-bed and of the sea-bed and its subsoil. |
 | | Thus the importance of the EEZ is primarily due to economic, on reasons to the fisheries, geologic and tourist value, archaeological estate but also with reasons of environment, geoestrategic nature and of internal security. |
