The EGEE project brings together experts from over 27 countries with the common aim of building on recent advances in Grid technology and developing a service Grid infrastructure which is available to scientists 24 hours-a-day.
Funded by the European Commission, the EGEE project community has been divided into 12 partner federations, consisting of over 70 contractors and over 30 non-contributing participants covering a wide-range of both scientific and industrial applications.
EGEE is a two-year project conceived as part of a four-year programme, where the results of the first two years will provide the basis for assessing subsequent objectives and funding needs.

 EGEE - Expression of Interest
EGEE will build on this success, a particular objective being the inclusion of SMEs in this process, which is an important challenge to ensure innovative exploitation of the research from EGEE.
Further objectives of EGEE are to enable development of new research areas, to integrate expertise in new ways, by continuing and enlarging the cross-disciplinary aspects of ongoing projects, and to explore the creation of novel collaborative environments within this new model of computing.

To allow you to work in distributed environment of the EGEE Grid, it is necessary to obtain a valid certificate of virtual laboratory GILDA and subsequently register yourself into the virtual organization GILDA VO (that will create for you a virtual working space where you will follow all practical examinations) before coming to the course.
In the case, that the interest in the course will exceed the capacity of the classroom, we will be forced to refuse those interested or organize similar course later, respectively.
