 EMD GP30
The EMD GP30 was a 2,250 hp (1,680 kW) four-axle B-B diesel locomotive built by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division of La Grange, Illinois between July, 1961 and November, 1963.
It was the first so-called "second generation" EMD diesel locomotive, and was produced in response to increased competition by a new entrant, General Electric's U25B, which was released roughly at the same time as the GP30.
EMD originally planned to name the locomotive the GP22, and the first demonstrators were put out under that number, but EMD's marketing department decided to leapfrog GE's numbering to make the new locomotive seem more advanced.

 EMD 645 Information
The EMD 645 is a line of diesel engines built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division.
Each cylinder is of 645 in³ (10.57 l) displacement, hence the name; the bore is 9.1 in (231 mm) and the stroke is 10 in (254 mm), and the compression ratio is 14.5:1.
The 645 succeeded EMD's earlier 567 series and was in turn replaced by the 710 series, but it is still sold and maintained by EMD for both locomotive, marine and stationary engine use.

EMD made a GP28 from March 64-November 65.It had a 561D1 prime mover rated at 1800 hp..Only 26 was produce.
EMD went on to produce the GP20 and 60 "Omaha" GP20's.
I've been told that the BL20-2 was one of EMD's last attempts to market a four axle road switcher and that there were no takers as several railroads were dumping their excess Geeps on the market for little more than an expensive automobile at that time.

CandO was already ordering a slew of 2,000HP GP38s from a recent order, but at this time EMD had recently come up with a 2,300HP Turbocharged version of the GP38.
The idea of 300HP increase and 4 fewer cylinders seemed to be a great plan to fill in the 20 allotted slots remaining for these new units.
In fact, the 20 CandO units were out of an EMD total of 23 produced in all, and only in 1969.

 Pacific Western Rail Systems
EMD introduced the GP15-1 in 1975 as a replacement for aging GP7s and GP9s still being used for switching, transfer and wayfreight service.
Later versions included the GP15-1AC, equipped with an alternator instead of a generator, and the GP15T, which added a turbocharger to the AC model.
Nearly 370 of the three styles were built for US railroads between 1976 and 1983, and most are still going strong.

EMD also built a "tunnel motor" style end-cab switcher, the MP15AC.

The SW1500 was the replacement for the SW1200 as the V12 powered switcher, it was built by EMD from 1966 to early 1974.
The Missouri Pacific saw these and requested something similar for their use, and the result was the MP15 which replaced the SW1500 in the EMD catalog, an MP10 was offered but none were ever built.
The idea was that trucks, Main DC Generators and certain other components would be reused to hold down the price, but the railroad would get a more fuel efficent locomotive for only a little more than their rebuilds.

Towards the end of the GP15 production run, EMD replaced the normally aspirated V12 with a turbocharged V8.
The lower radiator screen of the GP15T is located right over the rear truck, so I doubt that I will be able to cut the frame out to create the "see through" effect as on the prototype.
Then, I will cut the rear portion of the hood to the appropriate length, and re-connect it to the front portion of the body.

The EMD slant-nose E's were used by many railroads, and the 3, 4, and 6 being nearly identical will allow a good model with a few optional parts to cover a lot of ground.
A Rail Power quality shell would be a nice addition to their line, because this is a relatively straightforward EMD design and there are tons of parts from Cannon, Detail Associates, and others which could be used to make a first rate model.
6.) EMD GP60 Would be awfully nice to have a basic body shell rather than having to sand all the doors off the RPP part.
