Sports talk radio station WDNC 620 AM, which bills itself as "the Bull," has cut a deal with ESPN Radio to broadcast the network's sports programs beginning Friday.
ESPN is a valuable brand in the sports world that complements WDNC's own programs and could draw more listeners, said Billy McClatchey, whose Raleigh-based McClatchey Broadcasting leases and operates the station.
ESPN Radio began seeking a new Triangle affiliate after two AM stations that have been broadcasting its shows -- WTSB 1090 in Johnston County and WDUR 1490 in Durham -- were put up for sale.
