It begins May 31, when the 100th-ranked "most memorable" sports moment is revealed, beginning a daily countdown leading up to the anniversary day of Sept. 7, when ESPN will air a two-hour special about the network's history.
The first full show dedicated to "ESPN25" will debut June 8, when "SportsCenter" host Dan Patrick hosts a two-hour sports retrospective show with segments shot in Pittsburgh, San Francisco, Chicago and New York — cities judged to be the dominant sports town at various times during the last 25 years.
While the other shows will be about the sports world itself during the last quarter century, the final show will be entirely about the little network from Bristol, Conn., that changed sports broadcasting as we know it.
