		Maps of Geocryological Regions and Classifications in China include ESRI Shapefiles of meteorological stations, permafrost regions, and permafrost classifications, and binary arrays of 25 km EASE-Gridded permafrost regions and classifications.

		There is a "session" shapefile to convey the highest level information (RC info), a "glaciers" shapefile to convey per-glacier attributes, and a "segments" shapefile to hold all the glacier outline segments and their attributes.
		Also, shapefile names must be in the 8.3 format (an ESRI restriction), and the three files (.shp,.shx,.dbf) should have the same basename prefix (the part of the filename left of the '.').
		The "ancillary" shapefile holds basic metadata about additional (primarily raster) datasets, such as DEMs, "mugshot" images of the glacier, etc. These sorts of raster datasets should be included in the submission as separate GeoTiff, JPEG, PNG, or GIF files (ending in.tif,.jpg,.png, or.gif).

	Managing Robins Air Force Base Aircraft Inventories using MapObjects and ArcIMS
		Shapefiles were used to depict static spatial data such as building outlines, parking locations, runways, and roads.
		Shapefile locking was an issue for the dynamic nature of the aircraft positions.
		As discussed above, the FLMS application was the driver of the database and the aircraft shapefile generation/modification; integration between the FLMS database and the dynamic aircraft shapefile is a critical component of the FLMS.
