 Court approves sale of certain Eagle Food stores
Eagle Food Centers, which owns and operates supermarkets in Illinois and Iowa, announced late last week that the bankruptcy court confirmed the sale of certain Eagle stores.
The Kroger Co. plans to purchase six Eagle Food stores in Decatur, Lincoln, Ottawa, Rockford (two) and Sterling, Ill. Three of the deals are expected to close on Sept. 22, the remaining three transactions are expected to close on Sept. 29.
Eagle Food Centers has extended the bid deadline for its remaining 21 stores and its infrastructure to Sept. 17.
