Eaiea - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Eaiea is a constructed language, devised by Bruce Koestner.
It is based on the western 12-step chromatic scale, and can thus be whistled or played on a musical instrument as well as spoken simultaneously with a phololigical language by a singer.
The Eaiea lexicon lists the twelve component notes/syllables using lowercase letters from a (corresponding to the A musical pitch) to l (the G♯/Ab musical pitch).

 Eaiea
The Eaiea language, created by Bruce Koestner, is designed to allow musical instruments the opportunity to speak words through combinations of pitches, and also to let singers speak two languages simultaneously.
A one act chamber opera for string quartet and two vocalists that employs the Eaiea language has been written, and the composer is seeking talented musicians to perform this work.

 cognoshanty: Sol Re Sol
It was about Eaiea, which has 12 syllables (keep your musical languages straight!), but more generally it was about what "A G# A" means.
I associate "do re mi" so strongly with the major scale that I think of it relatively, as each key has its own major scale which is made of the exact same tetrachords, relatively speaking.
So your question could be rephrased as "What key is EAIEA in?" According to the above link, it *seems* to be in A, since A is associated with "Beginning" and leads as the first entry in the dictionary.

 THE SOLRESOL PAGE
As an update, I should mention that while preparing the initial mailing list, I came across a link to Jason's page at Bruce Koestner's Eaiea site.
(Eaiea is another musical language.) From there I obtained more addresses of people to bother, though the comments have been generally favorable.
I should mention that I am a lousy typist, and while I have read all this through several times, it's quite possible that there are horrific typos yet to be exorcized.
