Bradford is reluctant to take credit for advances made by the church in North America during the 11 years that he served as president, but his contributions are well known by those with whom he worked.

The town of Bradford was besieged by the Royalist army, under the Earl of Newcastle, in December 1642.
Bradford held out strongly, in spite of having no army and no fortifications, and the Earl's temper was naturally not improved by this.
The story tells that he was very cross, one Sunday evening, at Bradford's continued resistance and, as he went to bed, declared that the following morning he would slaughter every man, woman and child in the place, in spite of this being against the general code of conduct for war.

Just eight weeks ago, Earl controversially outpointed Bradford’s Bobby Vanzie for the second time in 12 months to regain the British lightweight title he was stripped of after twice withdrawing from scheduled rematches with Vanzie due to injury.
Earl didn’t look too impressive in his rematch against Vanzie last month and he hasn’t really improved as a fighter, whereas I have come on tremendously, and I believe you will be looking at the new champion on the night,” exclaimed Murray.
Considering the outcome of their previous engagement, another early stoppage victory for Earl cannot be ruled out especially when Murray has been halted in each of his three defeats.

 Real Titles
Though Life Peerages had existed for centuries, mainly given to women, this granted all the privileges of a hereditary peer on a life peer, or Life Baron or Baroness to be more correct, including the right to sit in the House of Lords, and for their children to be addressed as ‘The Honourable’.
The highest ranking Hereditary Title is that of ‘Duke’, followed by a ‘Marquess’ (sometimes spelt by Scots in the French way as Marquis), ‘Earl’, ‘Viscount’ and lastly a ‘Baron’; the last four are usually personally addressed both in normal speech and on paper as Lord, but not a Duke, he is much grander!
The most common title is that of a Knight, however, this means that you can call yourself Sir in front of your name, and is only for your lifetime; the equivalent for a woman is a Dame.

Slaughter of the innocents Army threatened cull farm family with house arrest
The Massie family's ordeal began at the end of March, when Hall Farm, on the family estate of the Earl of Bradford, was visited by an Australian vet working for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, who admitted he had never seen a case of foot and mouth in his life.
He inspected the farm's two cattle and 1,500 pigs and found them healthy, but when he looked at some of the farm's 600 sheep he noticed that two had "little red dots" on their gums.
Maff had already told the Bradford estate office a week before the reburials that samples taken from the Massies' animals had proved negative - which did not prevent them subsequently killing all the animals on a neighbouring farm under the contiguous cull policy, even though tests on this farm had also already proved negative.
