The galactic setting of Star Wars is never given a name and is called simply "the galaxy." Since the characters never venture beyond the galaxy and the power of both the Republic and the Empire ends at its borders, the galaxy clearly serves, ironically enough, as a microcosm of both Earth and a country.

Overall this is an even-numbered Star Trek, so it is fated to be enjoyable and, on the most part it is. The plot has one good concept that works (the clone) and one concept that really doesn't at all (B4) and would have been dismissed were it not for Spiner's hands on the script.

Chronology Of Written Star Trek Fiction
Star Trek Chronology are given overwhelming preference in the Pocket Timeline, even in circumstances where the dates given in the novels themselves ultimately make more sense.
Furthermore, I was reading "normal" Trek novels at age twelve, and I see no reason for otherwise outstanding authors to "dumb-down" the stories to a point where it is difficult to envision the events as historically valid.
Star Trek Chronology further complicates matters, as future authors will be obliged to conform to it despite the numerous contradictions with currently published novels.
