On the rare occasions when Earth Crisis isn't being interviewed by these fanzines, the band is very often the topics of discussion in letters or open forums, many of which are negative.
The members of Earth Crisis are often labeled "militants," or, worse yet, "fascists" who would use violent means to achieve their goals.
The ideological fire of Earth Crisis will be balanced somewhat by the other bands appearing with it at the all-ages show at RKCNDY on Feb. 24th.

 Iced Earth by [KaYn]
This is definitely one of my favorite Iced Earth albums, with the title track, Last December, and, of course, the over sixteen minute song, Dante's Inferno.
It features songs from Enter the Realm, Iced Earth and Night of the Stormrider, but they are re-sung and on some tracks the guitar, bass and drums are also re-done.
The upcoming Iced Earth album will be live, and it was recorded on January 23 and 24th in Athens, Greece.

Chandra :: Photo Album :: Earth Aurora :: More Images of Earth Aurora
On February 15, 2004, Chandra observed X-rays produced by an aurora in the north-polar region of Earth.
The X-rays, superimposed on a model of Earth, are seen as the violet-yellow-red arc stretching from northern Canada on the upper left to the Hudson Bay on the lower right.
To obtain this data, Chandra was aimed at a fixed point in the sky, and the Earth's motion carried the auroral regions through the field of view.

Earth by Matthew Sweet (lyrics & reviews)
The album's first single, "Vertigo," is a great song and seems to be about snorting coke; ah, the eighties...
Matthew Sweet's second album improves over the first, partly because the '80s were on the way out and there's less processed robo-pop in the backing tracks.
Sweet's songwriting has also improved; while even the strongest tracks on the first album were usually buried under mounds of keyboards and drum programming, the clean production and arrangements on "Earth" allow the songcraft to show up front and center.

 Doom-metal.com: Reviews - Earth
This album was long considered a holy grail amongst doomsters and grunge lovers alike, as it was deleted in the mid 1990's.
On this album you will find not a single voice, no drums, no keyboards, no special effects: only the pure, primitive forces of the earth making the heaviness worshipper like me bow in awe and greet the mighty planet....
While Earth's early works explored the simulation of earthquakes, gravity forces and the weight of a million elephants sitting on your shoulders, 'Phase 3' finds the band with a new obsession: the simulation of winds.

After enjoying that particular album I was very interested in listening to the rest of Iced Earth's discography.
Well, after listening to it and every other Iced Earth album dozens of times I'm pleased to say that Something Wicked is not only Iced Earth's best album, but it is also among the best albums of the late 90's.
Though Iced Earth still has that tendency to mute out their drum tracks in some songs, which at times causes them to lose a bit of their heaviness.

Utah Metal: Iced Earth - The Glorious Burden CD Review   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-14)
With A long running career spanning seven albums and almost 14 years, it’s amazing that this band from the U.S., which has never fallen victim to the trends, and always stuck to its guns playing traditional heavy metal, never fell to the wayside like so many have in the past.
I have no idea why Iced Earth gets lumped into the Power Metal genre, because when listening to this album (or any of their albums for that matter), it is far from power metal - in fact it’s more like a well produced, higher quality, modern-day thrash album.
The presentation of the songs and the delivery of the story-line are brilliant and bring you a bit closer to a time that is often forsaken by American pop-culture and commercialism.

Collectible Record Album Cover, Earth Wind & Fire - Spirit Album, Rock & Roll Music
Earth, Wind & Fire were one of the most musically accomplished, critically acclaimed, and commercially popular funk bands of the '70s.
Tying it all together was the accomplished songwriting of Maurice White, whose intricate, unpredictable arrangements and firm grasp of hooks and structure made EWF one of the tightest bands in funk when they wanted to be.
It was surprisingly successful, producing two R&B smashes in ^Thinking of You^ and the number one ^System of Survival.^ Released in 1990, Heritage was a forced attempt to contemporize the group's sound, with guest appearances from Sly Stone and MC Hammer; its failure led to the end of the group's relationship with Columbia.

Ground and Sky review - Glass Hammer - The Middle Earth Album
Glass Hammer's debut album, Journey of the Dunadan, contained two songs which are presented as having been recorded at The Inn of the Prancing Pony.
The first half of the album is set in The Prancing Pony and these songs have influences (conscious or otherwise) of Gilbert and Sullivan, sea shanties and country music.
This album is a bit of a departure in the Glass Hammer catalogue, not making attempts at a progressive sound but instead taking a Tolkien theme and running with it for about 45 minutes.

On the album, the music is rousing, the lyrics pure fun, and the crowd at the inn a jostling bunch that doesn't seem to get their fill of fun.
Specifically, it revisits The Prancing Pony Inn, in the town of Bree, in the County of Shire, in the land of Middle Earth.
I avoided picking up "The Middle Earth Album", however; I was afraid it would be too silly.

Loudon Wainwright III - Last Man on Earth (Album Review)
It was, after all, years ago when he turned to the topic of middle age, weaving his tales of love, hate, and familial relationships like no one else.
Wainwright's latest album Last Man on Earth found its roots in 1997 with the death of his mother (as well as the demise of a romantic relationship), after which he succumbed to an unfortunate bout of writer's block.
Consequently, the album finds Wainwright wrestling with his emotions in the aftermath of her death.

But the album has many problems one of them is that most of the music is too repetitive and looses the interest of the listener after two or three songs, that's why it's hard to describe this album track by track.
The best song without doubt is "Mithrandir", taken from their much better album "On to Evermore" where it was called "This Fading Age" and adapted to fit in this release, this track is one of the band's best efforts, great instrumentation and beautiful vocals, the song is wonderful.
Having found this album in a used bin, I was anxious to spin it.

This first of three albums for the Prodigal imprint of Motown Records had no hits, but is more cohesive than the two albums that would follow, Grand Slam and Band Together.
It would be remiss to not mention that Rod Stewart had a huge album with the same title in 1977, indicating the "new" Rare Earth was watching the hitmakers and restructuring the music.
Interesting, though, is that despite missing the thing that brought the band fame, as a complete album the focus is even more unified than the group's earlier successful discs, with Peter Hoorelbeke (the former Pete Rivera) at his best on a song he co-wrote with Tom Baird, "When I Write." It's quite the paradox.

Fortunately, any fears that Iced Earth are going to go soft are put to rest with the very next track, "Violate." It's a roaring thrash-metal song that's as fast as anything Slayer have ever done, and about as heavy as well.
It's also awesome that they did a concept album based on "Spawn", which just happens to be my favorite work of fiction (outside of novels, of course), so I'm glad that my favorite band did this.
By far one of the most lyrically involved pieces on the album, it is hard not to shed a tear when listening to this massive work of emotional art.
