To answer about EFC, it is clear from the first season that the shows direction was on of discovery of ourselves through the use of showing the contrasting conflicts between two new races which spawned from a single entity only to be doomed to their own mutual destruction.

Considering how precarious a position Andromeda is in quality-wise, it would be a shame if the same purge that removed all of Earth Final Conflict's actors and characters replacing them with models were also to happen to EFC's sister show Andromeda.
And if it's genocide to kill a few thousand civilians as part of a larger military campaign, then every civilized nation on earth is genocidal because even the Gulf war featured at least that many civilian casualties to say nothing of Vietnam or World War II.
It would be understandable that the executives would be unhappy with the character and prefer the show to focus on the male and female models, still after Tyr RevBem is Andromeda's only interesting character played by a real actor.

Sandoval has learned that the Volunteers in the Earth Abides incident were imposters and notes that a security breach at the Center resulted in the theft of a prototype skrill that bonds without a CVI.

[minstrels] Big Whorls Have Little Whorls -- Lewis F. Richardson
Incidentally, the final episode of Carl Sagan's wonderful TV series "Cosmos" (and the final chapter of his equally wonderful book of the same name), titled "Who Speaks For Earth?" has quite a bit about Richardson and his analysis of conflict.
Notes: The poem summarises Richardson's 1920 paper 'The supply of energy from and to Atmospheric Eddies' The LFR homepage quotes line 3 as 'Little whorls have smaller whorls'; however, practically everywhere else has it as 'lesser', and this is more faithful to DeMorgan's original.
Later in his career, he turned to the study of war and conflict, and was one of the first mathematicians to apply statistical tools to sociological analysis.

BookPage Fiction Review: The White Order
Modesitt's Recluce series -- set in a parallel earth-like world where magic and technology conspire and conflict in a constant struggle between chaos and order -- is more than a story about the battle between good and evil.
I suspect that the Saga of Recluce has many more puzzles to solve -- not least of which is whether, in Modesitt's parallel world, chaos and order will survive in a delicate balance or annihilate each other in one final, agonizing confrontation.
The Saga of Recluce is as rich and complex a creation as Tolkien's Middle-Earth.
