Despite being down early 9-0, the Lions took advantage of Harvard's 13 first half turnovers and used two strong runs, 12-4 and 21-11, to gain the lead and hold it throughout the second half.

Another Lion rookie, Nancy Howarth (Ventnor, NJ/Atlantic City) finished in second in the 1000 freestyle in 11:24.19, while Carlsen took second in the 100 freestyle (57.25) and third in the 200 freestyle (2:01.53).

Finning blues seems to be a regular East End spring occurrence over the last few years (maybe they did this all along and I never saw it).
I always assumed they were eating sand eels that were packed up densely, and had been herded and dazed (hence not swimming around at 600 MPH).
