East India is a station on Docklands Light Railway (DLR) in east London.
East India station was originally to be named Brunswick (after the nearby Brunswick Dock).
The station is on the Beckton branch of the DLR between Blackwall and Canning Town stations, and is on the boundary between Travelcard Zone 2 and Zone 3.

 Walkers Routes in Leamouth/Bow Creek Area
The original Blackwall Station and "Brunswick Hotel" stood on a promenade in front of the Virginia Wharf, on the Thames side to the west of the Orchard House peninsula and south of South Quay of the East India Docks.
This is accessible from East India DLR Station, and is also near the East India Dock Road (not far from the crossing opposite the end of Leamouth Road).
East India Dock Road had terminated at the Dock entrance at Brunswick Road, and the section eastwards from Poplar Hospital is shown on old maps as Barking Road.

Canary Wharf Pier is located at the Canary Riverside, providing a river boat connection to Greenwich in the east and the City_of_London and the West_End in the west on the commuter service, and a shuttle service to the London Docklands Hilton in Rotherhithe.
London_City_Airport is a few miles further to the east and can be accessed by bus connections or by taxi.

By December 1999, the Thames Wharf station (200 metres southwest of the eastern end of the Lower Lea Crossing) was described as an enhancement to be built at a later date: this is because development around the station is restricted by government safeguarding for the Blackwall Tunnel improvements.

One additional change is planned: to move South Quays station east as part of a capacity enhancement project (the existing station would be too short and cannot be extended at its current location).
