  Sukashi Tsuba in Late 16th Century Kyoto and Owari
The openwork of Kyo guards is in the ji sukashi, or positive relief style.
  Where Kyo iron is homogenous and smoothly finished, Owari guards are often given a hammered or in the case of Kanayama, a melted finish with much modeling of the iron from prominent tekkotsu.
The guard in figure 11 has a sukashi design of ginger shoots forming the hitsu-ana, which are connected by 4 birds to the vertical and horizontal cross bars.

Kyo is part of the name of three villages near Anfield Plain in County Durham, in England.
East Kyo and West Kyo are located about half a mile from each other to the north west of Anfield Plain.

His childhood and early teens were spent in the family mansion in Heian Kyo (the capital of Japan at the time and modern Kyoto) as the only son of a minor functionary in the imperial administration.
It was to be rectangular, bisected by a major north-south avenue, intersected at precise distances by north-south and east-west roads forming a grid pattern, and the seat of government had to occupy the northernmost center, forming a walled rectangular imperial city within the capital.
Closer to the palace were the east and west administrations of the capital, the university, and a large park.

In the foreground is a purification fountain with an image of Seiryuu, the Azure Dragon of the East and Spring.

Mandalay Shwe Kyo That Area which forms the subjects of the following notes was discovered in 1954 in the Shwe Nan Daw Kyaung, Mandalay, where it was said to have been stored since at least the year 1885.
Shwe Myo Taw stretches 6.5 miles north south and 4 miles east west, it has an area of 25 square miles, shares boders with Aung Pinle Kan to the East, Ayerawady river to the west, land wall to the North and Mahamuni pagoda to the South.
It covers the whole of Mandalay Shwe Kyo That area from the Nat Hteik mountain on the east to the hight banks of the Irrawaddy on the west, and from the Charung magyi on the north to the Myitnge on the south.

Considering the fact that "international society" neglected the illegal occupation of East Timor by Indonesia for 24 years, this should be among the top priorities of the international society.

The arrangement of the buildings is very unique, with the Kon-do and Kodo (Lecture Hall) located in the center, and the two three-storied pagodas, the east pagoda and west pagoda located on the sides.
These gorgeous temples were in several fires, and the buildings burned down one by one, leaving only the east pagoda in its original form.
