		Outside of the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh metropolitan areas, Pennsylvania is a relatively poorer state, especially in the northern areas and the Appalachian Mountains; only 22% of Pennsylvania places have per capita incomes higher than the national per capita income, and 11.0% of the population lives below the poverty line.
		There are sixty-seven counties located in Pennsylvania, three of which are in the 100 richest counties in the country.

		A careful study of the eighteenth century iron industry in Pennsylvania reveals that the flsmith and his shop were closely associated with the forge at the ironworks where the bar iron was made.
		John Long in Drumore Township was a flsmith in 1759 (see Appendix), a cutler in 1796, and a sicklemaker in 1814.
		In the same township James Long was a sicklesmith in 1792 and a cutler in 1796.

		It concludes that the increased revenue and greater exposure of Pennsylvania horse racing to be generated by the simulcasts along with better service to racing patrons support a broad interpretation of the Commission's powers under Section 201.

	American Civil Liberties Union : Pennsylvania County Settles ACLU Lawsuit Brought on Behalf of Political Protesters
		LANCASTER, PA -- In a victory for free speech and protest rights, the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania today announced that the East Lampeter Township and a group of Lancaster County political activists have agreed to settle their civil lawsuit stemming from the activists’ arrests during a campaign visit by President Bush last July.
		However, within two minutes of assembling the dramatic piece of street theater, township and state police forcibly dismantled the human pyramid the men had created and arrested them for "disorderly conduct." The charges were later dropped in October.
		After the charges against the men were dropped, five of the six protesters filed a lawsuit against both East Lampeter Township and the Pennsylvania State Police in December.
